Youth After School Program

These classes are for age 12 to 17. Come in and wind down after school between 3:30 and 5:00. We have a different activity every day and a free open day on Thursdays.

Mondays, we have Fiddlin' Around with Liana
Fiddle class is great for violin/fiddle students who are interested in exploring different styles of fiddle music from Celtic to Bluegrass, Folk to Trad and everything in-between!
You will be in a group class with other music lovers at your age and playing level and will learn many skills, including how to play a variety of fiddle music and how to play with others as an ensemble in a supportive and fun environment. Hone your skills in the art of fiddling in private lessons as well!
Plus, this is the only class you get to sit in the back and fiddle around…
Tuesdays, we have R&B/Funk/House ensemble
A group class ages 13-17, where students learn R&B, Funk and House grooves though producing in GarageBand (or Logic X). Students will also learn harmony through a mixture of performance and production. 
Wednesdays, we have Garage Band Class with Annie da Silva
Students will have an interactive experience on how to take a bands’ music to the next level and what is involved with playing gigs and then ultimately heading into the recording studio and releasing material.
Thursdays is the Youth Open Mic
Just as it sounds. Bring in some tunes to play. The stage is yours for up to 3 songs!
Friday, we have Up and Coming Youth Songwriters
Whether you are just starting out or you’ve been songwriting for a while there are always new things to learn and different ways to approach writing a song. In this class we will dive into all aspects of songwriting, from finding a great hook to what goes into writing the perfect bridge. We’ll cover lyrics, melodies, song structure and everything in between. With writing activities and lots of opportunity to collaborate with fellow classmates this will be a great way to get out of your comfort zone in a creative and supportive environment.

Anne Marie Ala

Anne Marie Ala is a singer-songwriter & music producer.  With over 4 million views on Youtube, she's featured on 'A-Side' the theme song of Disney's 'The Next Step'. She has also been featured on several Spotify editorial playlists in South-East Asia such as ‘Chillax Ka Muna’ & ‘我的微醺夜’. Recent graduate of Berklee College of Music (c/o ’19) majoring in Contemporary Writing and Production, Annie is passionate about teaching kids music fundamentals while keeping it fun!
