Nathan M Godfrey





Nathan M. Godfrey is a multi-instrumentalist in Calgary (Treaty 7). Nathan plays an eclectic swath of styles including old-time, ragtime, cowboy, blues, tango and jazz on the guitar, banjo, mandolin and banjolin. He’s performed solo and as a sideman on stages throughout North America, the UK, Ireland, Sweden, and Argentina, with the likes of Petunia (of Petunia and the Vipers), Tomi Fujiyama, John Cohen (of the New Lost City Ramblers), Fandango, the old-time duo “Godfrey and Tod” and the Jeremy Gignoux acoustic ensemble. Nathan’s solo debut album, Old Time Metropolis, was recorded in Buenos Aires with a selection of local musicians adding accordion, tuba, washboard, fiddle and more. At the Mob Cafe on August 6th Nathan will be joined by Keith Rodger on bass, banjo and mandolin, and Wayne Garrett on 6-string guitar and pedal steel.
