She attended classical and experimental sessions at the Banff Centre and the Sunset Theatre Artist Exploration Series from 2008-2017, creating compositions: \u2019Poetry on the Wall,\u2019 \u2018Run the Wind,\u2019 \u2018Whispers,\u2019 and \u201817~Emptiness Turns inside out\u2019 a dramatic story with inseparable connection between cello, voice, words and worlds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morag played a three year series of solo concerts \u2018Together Calgary\u2019 in St. Mary\u2019s Cathedral, offering sound therapy through meditation, improvised cello and voice.<br>She created and performed a year of monthly concerts &amp; talks via Full Moon Walks in Fish Creek Park, encouraging reconnection with Self through Nature, Bow Valley Ranche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2014 Morag walked the 720 kilometre Camino de Santiago pilgrimage carrying her cello, playing and singing along The Way.<br>She has a debut album \u2018This is the Life,\u2019 singer, song-writer, cellist 2009 and collaborated as composer, cellist, singer and co-producer on \u2018Lilies of the Field\u2019 with Kristoph Franz, nominated for \u201cOutstanding Inspirational Album of the Year\u201d Gospel Music Association of Canada 2007 Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morag was awarded the Calgary 2015 Betty Mitchell Award for \u201cOutstanding Theatrical Composition\u201d \u2018Butcher\u2019 Alberta Theatre Projects, &nbsp;performed at the 2010 Olympics, played for the Governor General of Canada Micha\u00eblle Jean, and performed her show \u2018Unstoppable Love.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015 Morag &nbsp;played and sang the Opening Blessing of the Canada Winter Games in collaboration with a Lheidli T\u2019enneh, First Nation Elder and a Drummer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has recently been part of Nicole Tritter\u2019s \u2018Among the Trees 2020\u201d collaborating with Dancers and sharing her composition \u201cWhispers\u201dinspired by Nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Performers Morag Northey&nbsp;expresses her belief in the infinitely healing power of Love &amp; Compassion through &nbsp;music, story, cello and song. &nbsp;She invites you to Journey with her on this Winter Solace concert she calls \u201cI Am\u201d Morag is a classically trained Solo, Chamber, Orchestral and Theatrical Performer and Teacher.
