Kelly Johnsgaard is a photographer, urban explorer, founder of creator spaces, & a community connector based in Calgary, Alberta.

Co-Founder of Voltage Creative Garage ( Founded on Nov 2014-Sept 2017 ) Co-Founder of nvrlnd. Arts Foundation ( September 2017-Current) Inspired and compelled to capture the beauty of context and decay, Johnsgaard found his passion for photographing urban, abandoned buildings and still life. To Johnsgaard, the exploration of abandoned buildings and sites that once had purpose became an analogy for his purpose; to turn abandoned buildings into safe, diverse, inclusive, and affordable artist studios and build communities that make a difference in arts and culture in Calgary, Alberta.

Scott grew up in Toronto, studying at The Royal Conservatory and with mentors such as Norbert Kraft, Jeffery McFadden, Bob Erlendson and Pierre Gallant to name a few, sorting out his technique, direction and thought process. Scott has toured extensively across Canada and abroad, performing primarily Classical Guitar. To this date, he has recorded 2 Cd’s of Classical guitar and published 5 collections of books on guitar theory and practice. Scott held positions at Nanaimo Conservatory of Music and Mount Royal Conservatory before founding Asylum for Art Academy and the live music venue, MOB Cafe.

Today, when not emersed in his artistic and musical projects, you will find him in the mountains being pulled around by his 5 rowdy hounds or rebuilding old cars.
