Aaron Leaney is a Trinidadian-Canadian saxophonist and composer based in Montreal, Quebec. The AL3 was formed in 2007, with Edmonton bassist Thom Golub and drummer Chris Dadge. The trio’s music moves between electric compositions with melodic melodies, swing and structure on one hand while embracing full freedom on the other. The music is free in nature, full of colour but in a sensitive, lyrical manner.
