About Course

Join us every Monday for another adventure in the world of visual art. Every week will be a different experience with a different instructor and a different medium. There will be 2 classes with age appropriate material covered in each: Basics/Family Class: 6:00 pm Intermediate/Advanced Class: 7:30 pm Under 14 Free (must be accompanied by and adult and up to 2 youth per adult) Adults: $34 pack of 5 VAM passes: $145 (save $25) pack of 10 VAM passes: $240 (save $100)

January 15, 2024: Drawing – Pencils, Charcoal and Conte
Instructor: Debbie Desmarais Learn drawing techniques of still life drawing with a focus on shapes, light source, shading, reflections and blending

January 22, 2024: Drawing – Coloured Pencils, Chalk and Oil Pastels
Instructor: Debbie Desmarais This is a still life class with a focus on the techniques of coloured pencils, chalk and oil pastels

January 29, 2024: Book Binding

Material Includes

  • We will provide the basic materials for each class, ie. easels, paint, brushes, pencils, charcoal, etc.
  • Consumable materials such as canvases, sketch pads, etc. will be available for purchase or you may bring your own
  • Please see each individual class for class specific requirements

Requirements

  • For most of the topics, there will be 2 classes each Monday.
  • The first will be 'The Basics' and welcoming to family participation. No experience will be necessary for this class.
  • The second will be 'Advanced' and intended for participants who are familiar with the medium discussed. You certainly don't need to be a professional, but basic technique will be required. Participants are welcome to participate in 'The Basics' and stay for the 'Advanced' class
  • Please see each class for class specific requirements and age expectations
